Summer Magic was an created in 1994 by Wizards of the Coast as a reprint of the 1993 Revised Edition, with corrections of numerous errors in Revised. Because of errors in the color correction process, Summer Magic cards have odd-looking color saturation. Additionally, new errors were introduced in Summer Magic, the most famous being the printing of the card Hurricane using a blue card frame rather than the correct green frame. Due to these errors, Wizards of the Coast never published Summer Magic and almost all of the Summer Magic print run was destroyed.
Because of their unique look and the fact that very few Summer Magic cards survived, they are highly sought-after as collectibles. The most powerful cards that are played in many formats, such as dual lands, Counterspell, Demonic Tutor, Swords to Plowshares, Lightning Bolt, etc. are the most coveted and most valuable, along with the blue Hurricane which is considered the most iconic card of the set.
In addition to the color saturation difference, Summer Magic cards can also be identified by the copyright date of 1994, compared to Revised Edition which includes a copyright but without a date. Summer Magic is also sometimes referred to by the internal Wizards of the Coast name "Edgar".
